YEAR 4 RECIPES

Already we have finished the first half term at DBGS. How time flies!!
Holidays were enjoyed by all in the Eid Break. The International Day
Parade was both colourful and spectacular on 1st
November. Look for the photographs in the galleries section. Things were
very exciting in the first week for the children in Year 4 as they did
Instructional Writing in English. Mrs Roux and Mrs Bolton were encouraging
the pupils to create their own recipes. I believe some of the finished
products were delicious but none ended up in Year 6!!! Have a read through
some of the excellent work and well done Year 4.
Thanks for reading. We are looking forward to a successful half term in

Key Stage 2 Poetry

The children have started really well in Key Stage 2 at DBGS. There is a lot of hard work going on and the teachers are struggling to keep up with the children!!! Each class is producing some excellent work and the children are playing nicely together and creating a lovely atmosphere in their environment.

This blog will be used to display messages and to display work from the children to give parents and visitors to our website an idea of the quality that our children are able to produce. Here are some examples of work going on in English at the moment in Year 6.

Thanks for reading.

David Bolton (Key Stage 2 Coordinator and 6 Blue teacher)

Green
I am the smell of freshly cut grass
on a crisp spring morning.
The taste of soft juicy grapes,
always at their finest.
The leaves of plants in a luscious rainforest,
home to lots of animals in need.
The scales on a slimy, stealthy snake,
never seen in the day,
stalking rodents in the night.
A crisp, delicious apple,
waiting to be sold at the local market.
I am the salty seaweed at the bottom of every ocean.

By Joseph Quinlan

White
I am fluffy shaped clouds up in the sky.
Breathe my sweet smell of vanilla custard.
I rest on the top of a cone dripping in the sun.
Hear the soft snow fall on to the ground as people feel my coldness.
Write on my clean crispy pages.
You can’t see when I get angry and fog up the streets.

Razeena 6 Red

I AM BLACK I AM MISERY
I am the main colour of misery,
A touch from me and you’ll be ruined,
I am darkness I am horror.
Sipping your coffee by your window,
Watching the rain hammering down,
I am darkness I am horror.
Funeral dresses and robes,
Hearing the sounds of the dead in their coffins,
I am darkness I am horror.
Fall into my depths,
Die in my temple of misery,
I am darkness I am horror.

TAYSSEER BEN ALI 6 RED

RED
I am a deliciously crispy apple ready to be bitten.
See my wet blood dripping off a razor sharp dagger.
Smell my deep aroma from roses in Spring.
I lie sleepily as the raspberry sauce draped over a flake 99.
I am a warm soft blanket wrapped around a cold body.
Hear me singing merrily as a cheery robin in Winter.

RED
Taste the small, crunchy apple, full of sweetness,
Sense the beautiful blood-red sunset setting over the place Arabian Gulf,
Feel my sharp thorns on an English rose,
Smell the sweet aroma of poppy flowers wafting through the window.
Hear the splash of blood falling onto the cold, hard floor.
